COUNTRY / LOCATION
Scotland, UK / Glen Coe
HOW TO GET THERE
This picture was taken in the valley of Glen Coe on a small road beside the A82 which follows the valley so you find it pretty easy.
I stayed at the hostel in Inchree.
WHAT TO SEE
The area is full of great motifs. It´s a bit rough ( windy, cold ) so you should be preapared but it´s pure nature and an absolutly stunning landscape. You can go hiking or get around by car ( I used a rental car starting at the airport ). By driving around you can reach the well known Eilean Donan Castle, the bridge known from the Harry Potter movies ( Glennfinan viaduct ) or the coast in Mallaig in about 1-2 hours.
At least have a whiskey or beer at the Clachaig Inn in Glen Coe!
ABOUT THE PICTURE
This pictures was taken in October. The weather was changing a lot so there were a lot of great light settings like sun, rain and fog all in one day. When the sun was setting I took this image. It was getting dark and pretty windy so I had to use my tripod. The longer exposure time let the water look smooth without using a filter. Of course the beautiful last light of the day coming through the mountains created a great motif.
As for all my pictures I developed the RAW File with some basic settings like sharpeing, lens correction and some contrast and tone adjustments. I use Adobe photoshop to create a look. Mainly it´s some gradiation curves and color settings like reducing the intensitiy.
